Why did silver drop even though a lot stocks are red and CPI is higher then expected??
Sovereigns struck in Canada have a “C” mint mark.
The price shops pay for all that scrap has to be low due to the time it takes to check it out
That Birks sterling bowl would probably sell for at least spot in Canada. I recently bought some 925 home pours with weights stamped on them. I sure hope they are not less pure. At least I know who poured them and I paid below spot. Silver is silver, as long as the price is right.

They don't really call old impure gold coins "junk", do they. Jacob the customer, basically traded his his .925 junk silver for a .9167 "junk" gold Sovereign. LOL! That's alright, despite what my Tulsa dealer says, I love the gold Sovereigns.
Would like to get yankees thoughts on stacking sterling flatware. All of those pieces tend to be clearly marked sterling and I hate to see beautiful antique silverware melted down
A lot of the sterling pieces he had are worth much more than scrap on the secondary market to collectors. Those Jerusalem pieces and sterling utensils/ plates can fetch high prices depending on the maker/ design
I love gold Sovereigns and have a couple dozen of them, My favorite is the pretty, young Elizabeth II of the 1950-60s. But I get a cackle every time I look at my Queen Victoria Jubilees with her silly little Clown Crown sitting on the top of her head. LOL! Terrible, I know…… St. George Slaying the Dragon really gives them such a distinctive look. I have one double Sovereign and would like to eventually acquire a 5£ Sovereign. I also love the Austrian 4 Ducats and 100 Coronas. My gold and silver dealer in Tulsa really offended me when he said that there was no market for them all and only paid spot for them. He then went on to say that they sent them off to be melted down. Such barbarism ! ! !

If it's liberal Republicans, somebody has to call that out. The Romneys, McCains, Bushs, Crenshaws, McConnells, and Murkowskis of the world are just as bad and have ruined this country. Here in Alaska we have 2 liberal Republicans splitting the vote and the democrat will likely win with 30%. It was a loose-loose no matter what. The attitude of "Well we gotta keep the democrats out even if a scumbag Republican is the only option" is what got us here in the first place. The Left already controls everything. i go to yard sales ..and aquire ALOT of silver and gold too..Be surprised what people do not have a clue to what they throw out on the table…i save it up and then go to a refiner a few miles away for a big payday…Its like treasure hunting every weekend…and getting gold and silver for PENNIES on the dollar..
Used to work at a university and found jewelry laying on the street all the time. Maybe I'll take that bag in one of these days.
