  1. great video. I have fund overlap. I have QQQ-M, VTI, and VOO. what are your thoughts. I understand the overlap and like you said I really like the top 10 in these funds so the overlap is nice.

  2. I have my Roth IRA setup with SCHD 40%, FXAIX 25%, QQQM 25% and O 10%. I’m 46. What do you think of this setup?

  3. So glad that you mentioned real estate investing in this video!
As someone with real estate holdings as well as my stocks and ETSs. I was curious how much real estate played into your overall portfolio, since you never mention REITs. ????

  4. Do you suggest investing in QQQ or QQQM? If you already had shares in QQQ, would you stop adding more shares and instead start adding shares to QQQM for long term investment (10+ years)?

  5. You really need to start looking longer than 10 years. I understand your audience is probably on the younger side and might have not invested for that long of a period, but for the average investor, they will likely be investing and have money in the market for 30+ years. 10 years seems like a lot of time and it is, but in the investing world it isn't. Hard to take your advice seriously when you are hype focused on the last 10 yr performance(bonds and ex-us).

  6. Would it be optimal to add a reit to my brokerage etf portfolio all I have is growth and fundamental with schd rn in it and if so which one do you prefer NNN or O?

  7. Hello Professor G.
Nowadays there is a lot of YouTube videos of making money on trading Options.
People say that strategy like Selling Covered Calls is 100% safe and will skyrocket your capital in no time.
Example, it sounds useful when you want to increase your position in stock shares, buying a set of 100 shares for a lesser price than on market, plus you gain free Premium.
What do you think about this? Is it worth it?

  8. One comment that summed it up for me was why your portfolio may not include REITs. I recently started on this investment journey after always having had a fear of stocks. Being a real estate agent in South Africa for some 30 years plus, I had all my eggs in one basket. Real estate income generating properties. Not bad, but no I need to diversify for currency hedging as the Rand is on a permanent downwards spiral. I also need to diversify. So your 3 fund portfolio is my priority and makes a lot if sense for South African investors I think.

  9. 00:00 ???? Focusing solely on high total returns can lead to overlap in ETFs, essentially buying similar assets from different funds, causing redundancy and potential inefficiencies in your portfolio.
04:32 ???? Understanding fund overlap is crucial; assess the holdings and weightage across various ETFs to avoid inadvertently doubling down on specific stocks within your portfolio.
08:53 ???? Diversification shouldn't mean diluting quality; Warren Buffett advocates investing in understandable, strong businesses rather than spreading investments too thin across multiple stocks.
11:13 ???? Constantly changing your portfolio based on new information without understanding your investment goals can lead to inefficiencies and may not align with your overall strategy. Understanding your investments and goals is crucial before making changes.

  10. Hello professor ????????
I watch quite a lot of YouTube channel but this one did not take me a second to hit the subscribe button. Very intelligent brain. You may have started late but you know exactly how to utilize this plate form. Good for you!

Now let’s get to the business 😀

I feel like I understand the tax harvesting rule but then i am Still kinda confused.
So, I have one shitty stock in my portfolio that is down 90% (over $20,000) . Recently I have been tempting to selling partial of the shares worth of $3000 to write off my regular w2 income because I dont have any stocks sales/gains for this yr to harvest.
Question is : do you get the full $3000 refund/credit of that $3000 or you save a 22% on $3000 from your w2 income?

I understand an actual tax harvesting is up to $3000. However I read somewhere that if a company goes bankrupt then you can tax harvest at 100% of your loss. Is that correct ?

  11. Hi Professor G. I'm from the UK, completely new to investing and just opened an account with Trading212, but I can't invest in VOO or SCHD I can only view them. Is this because they're US ETFs? If so, what would be the alternative?

  12. Professor G, have you looked at any of the option ETFs that have ridiculous yeilds like SQY, TSLY and CONY? what is your take on these stocks? are they worth throwing into a Roth with a drip or are these just too risky?

  13. But owning the fund is NOT really the same as owning Apple Stock. The fund owns Apple stock. You own the fund & get the gains or losses of the fund NOT the gains and losses of Apple. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Want the best understanding

  14. Question what do you think about having VTI, SCHD, IJR, QQQM and XLK i know its a lot of tech but I have a long time to invest 30 plus years to go through volatility and tech I feel is going to be a great long term investment?

  15. Super newbie question – Where do you set up one account to include the ETFs from two or more brokerage houses like Vanguard, Schwab, and Fidelity or do you have to have more than one account?
