  1. Let me know your thoughts on the AGE! Thanks for watching! Your support means the world!

  2. Do gold eagle coins tarnish? It has 5% copper and 3% silver. I am curious about other 900 purity gold coin alloys as well. Would be a nice video topic as well. I have a deutsche 20 mark Wilhelm II gold coin and it seems 900 alloy has tarnished a little bit here and there. Not fake for sure. Thanks. Ben from Hungary

  3. They're ugly, so they're an investment. It's my bars I'll keep long term, more sentimental value.

  4. I have GOT to send you today's receipt from my LCS vs the APMEX prices. APMEX is charging a 50% markup on the 1/4oz. You won't believe the difference! How do I send this to you? Mark

  5. One thing I’ve always hated about the American Gold Eagle line is how the face value of the 1/4 ozt coin is less than 1/4 of the face value of the full 1 ozt coin. The US Mint should have either stuck to the $20-$10-$5-$2.5 face value scheme of the traditional constitutional Gold Eagle coinage (perhaps substituting a $2 gold coin for the traditional $2.5 face value slot, allowing the minting of proportional 1/10 ozt coins), or it should have gone for a $100-$50-$25-$10 face value scheme. The $50-$25-$10-$5 scheme that it did eventually go for in the AGE line just seems silly and amateurish. I know of course that the coins are valued by their gold content and not their face value, but there’s simply no good reason why the proportions of the face values shouldn’t match the proportions of the gold content throughout the series.

It’s one of the reasons why I’ll always be a Krugerrand guy. No face value, but the coins are still legal tender by law (South African law, that is) at the spot price of gold. At least the Krugerrand doesn’t pretend to be something that it’s not. Also, the fact that Krugerrand premiums are almost always the most reasonable of any major bullion coin doesn’t hurt either, although I wish that the fractional Krugerrands (especially the 1/4ozt version) were as well priced as the beautifully liquid 1ozt Krugs.

  6. American Gold Eagles are like Corvettes. Everyone knows about them, they're common, overpriced, cool when first introduced, Europeans don't care for them, and the owners never really go more than 10mph over the speed limit. That being said, I would gladly accept either into my collection if the price is right. ????

  7. Loved the video. Although you won’t believe this, but your music was so loud it shook my speaker really crazily and a glass bottle fell off the speaker and smashed in my floor. You smashed a bottle in my apartment. Crazy.

  8. Had no idea about the Capitol building on the obverse! Never really looked that closely. I'm a "look at the shiny thing of real value" kind of guy. Ironically, I've louped 100 or so of these when buying to look for copper spotting, and STILL never noticed the Capitol building. Nothing like attention to detail! Don't tell my clients. Great discussion about the AGEs!

  9. I'd suggest the British Britiania is better. LOWER PREMIUM, harder to counterfeit, better purity, as great recognition. The AGE is good, IF and ONLY if the premium is less.

  10. Informed, well-prepared video. Really well done, but the transition audio is too loud for mic volume IMO.

  11. Great content, I hope to add as much gold as possible before the price Really takes off. I do prefer the yellow color as well.
I usually listen with ear buds when I'm at work, could you please tone down the "new chapter" music? It goes from a smooth steady voice to a shocking explosion in this old guys ears, haha.
    Thanks!

  12. I love American Gold Eagles, Mr. Campbell, but here is my problem. I live in Canada and it's very expensive to buy an American Gold Eagle here. It's the most expensive gold coin. The premiums are double that of most other bullion gold coins. It makes sense for me to buy Canadian Gold Maples, because they are the cheapest gold bullion coin in Canada.

  13. I don't know that they are the best.

Maybe the Best in the US for liquidity, but for other countries, go with 9999 fine for no taxes on the sale.
